KANBANDO / HANDBOOK

Backup & recovery

Keep an independent copy before you need one.

Export a complete backup#

  1. Open Settings → Backup.
  2. Choose Export complete backup.
  3. Save the file somewhere you can find again, ideally outside this device.
  4. Keep the backup private: it can include project data and images. Repeat before major cleanup or restoration.

Restore or import#

  1. Export your current data first if you might need to return to it.
  2. Choose Settings → Backup → Restore or import and select a KanbanDo backup.
  3. Review the import choices. Import as copies adds copies; Replace everything replaces current app data.
  4. Read the confirmation and finish only when you have selected the intended mode.
  5. Inspect the result and check cloud/project status before continuing work.

Cloud ownership after recovery#

A backup restores saved app data; it is not a way to grant yourself membership of someone else’s iCloud project. Sharing and cloud authority still depend on the current Apple Account and project role. If a restored shared project needs attention, follow the collaboration and conflict controls rather than assuming that local copies have changed the live share.

Reset is a separate action#

Settings → Reset KanbanDo is not the normal import workflow. Its confirmation includes erasing app and iCloud data, and AI access stops during reset. Export first and read the exact consequences before confirming. For an ordinary restore, use Restore or import instead.

Export diagnostics when asking for help#

Settings → Sync diagnostics offers Copy for TestFlight and Export sync report. Reports are designed to exclude task text, project names, photos, and account details. Include the report code, device, app version, expected result, and actual result when contacting support.
