Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy explains how the developer identified on KanbanDo’s TestFlight or App Store listing ("we", "us" or "our") handles information in the KanbanDo app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and on the KanbanDo pages at ancap.app.

2. Project content

KanbanDo projects can contain information you enter, including project and column names, task titles, notes, comments, checklist items, dates, priorities, tags, links, completion status, task assignments and image attachments. They also contain technical information needed to operate and synchronise the project, such as stable identifiers, attachment metadata, participant roles, permissions, timestamps and sync state.

KanbanDo does not send project content to a developer-operated backend. The app has no developer account, advertising, behavioural tracking, analytics SDK or third-party crash-reporting SDK.

3. Storage choices

This device only. Local projects and any device-only image attachments remain in KanbanDo’s app storage on the current device. No iCloud account is required. You can export a complete backup and save it with a file provider you choose.

iCloud. If you choose iCloud storage, KanbanDo sends project text and metadata to Apple’s CloudKit service and sends synchronised images as CloudKit assets. Apple stores and processes that data in KanbanDo’s CloudKit container under your Apple Account and Apple’s terms and privacy policy. KanbanDo uses CloudKit rather than a custom collaboration server.

You choose the storage mode. iCloud synchronisation is not an independent backup.

4. Optional collaboration

An owner can use Apple’s CloudKit sharing system to invite specific participants to an iCloud project and give them view-only or editing access. Apple processes the invitation, Apple Account information needed for sharing, participant status and permissions. Invited participants can access the project content and synchronised attachments permitted by the share. KanbanDo sets public access to none and does not make private projects public.

KanbanDo may display participant names and identity information supplied by Apple. You can also choose a profile name and optional photo. These are stored on your device and synchronised through CloudKit to shared projects where you have editing access, so other participants can recognise you in the people list and task assignments. Initials are shown when no photo is available. You can edit your profile or remove your photo in the app.

The owner can manage participants or stop sharing. Only share a project with people you trust, and use the same Apple Account throughout the invitation process.

5. Image attachments and backups

When you add an image, KanbanDo processes it on your device to make smaller display and thumbnail versions before storage or upload. Keeping the original is optional. You can remove attachments, and in an iCloud project you can choose to keep an image on the device rather than synchronise it.

Exported backups include project information and attachments. A backup is saved to the location you choose, so Apple or another file provider may process it under that provider’s terms and privacy policy. Treat backups and collaboration invitations as private.

6. How project content is used

We do not sell or rent project content, share it with advertisers, or use it to build an advertising profile. KanbanDo processes content only to provide the features you choose, such as local storage, image display, backup, iCloud synchronisation and collaboration.

7. Inbox and capture extensions

KanbanDo can receive task text, notes, a web link and selected images through its share extension or Siri Shortcuts. Captures are staged in the app’s private shared container on your device and remain in the private Inbox until you file them into a project. Filing a capture into an iCloud project makes that task and any synchronised attachments available through CloudKit and, if the project is shared, to its permitted participants.

8. Retention, deletion and choices

Local content remains until you delete it in KanbanDo, remove its local storage, or erase the app and its data. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily delete CloudKit projects, shared content, exported backups or copies on other devices.

For iCloud projects, the owner controls the project and share. Participants can leave a share, and owners can remove participants or stop sharing. Apple controls retention in iCloud and may retain data or backups under its policies. You can stop using KanbanDo at any time.

9. Purchases

The App Store handles payments and purchase restoration. KanbanDo uses Apple’s StoreKit to verify whether your Apple Account has the Unlimited Projects entitlement and to unlock that feature. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple handles transaction information under its own terms and privacy policy.

10. Sync diagnostics and support

KanbanDo keeps a small sync diagnostic log on your device to help investigate problems. Reports include app and system versions, counts, sync states, error codes and hashed record identifiers. They exclude task text, project names, photos, email addresses and account identifiers. Nothing in these reports is sent automatically: you choose whether to copy a summary, export a file or send it to support.

If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. We use it only to answer and resolve your request. We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security and legal record-keeping, then delete it. You may ask us to delete it unless we must retain it by law.

11. TestFlight beta testing

TestFlight is an Apple service with its own data practices. Apple automatically collects crash logs and beta usage information and shares them with us. This can include app and device versions, installations, sessions and crash information. When you join only through a public link, Apple does not display your name or email address to us. Feedback you choose to submit, including comments and screenshots, is shared with both Apple and us and may include identifying information.

We use TestFlight information to investigate issues and improve KanbanDo, do not share it with third parties, and retain copies only as long as needed for that purpose. 12. This website and invitation fallback

The ancap.app website does not add advertising cookies, analytics, or behavioural tracking. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process information such as your IP address, approximate location, device or browser information, requested page and time of access to operate, secure, analyse and improve its services and for the other purposes in its Privacy Notice. Vercel says it retains information for the minimum period needed for its stated obligations and legitimate business purposes, then deletes or anonymises it when it no longer has an ongoing need.

KanbanDo’s invitation fallback page may receive an Apple collaboration URL in its share query parameter. Its static browser code uses the value only to create explicit links for reopening the invitation. We do not proxy it, save it in browser storage, or send it to analytics. Because the value is part of the requested page address, Vercel may process it in operational logs under its privacy notice.

13. Security

KanbanDo validates synchronised records and attachment references before displaying them and uses Apple’s permission model for shared projects. Apple states that third-party app data stored in iCloud is encrypted in transit and on its servers; end-to-end encryption of CloudKit encrypted fields and assets depends on Apple’s Advanced Data Protection and sharing conditions. You are responsible for securing your device, Apple Account, invitations and chosen file provider, and for keeping backups appropriate to the importance of your projects.

14. Changes to this policy

If KanbanDo’s data practices change, we will update this page, its effective date, and the App Store privacy disclosures before the change applies where required.
